 Heart to Heart at HRMC
On May 26th, Dr. Esther Levin, a cardiologist at Hendry Regional Medical Center, opened the doors of her new office to meet and greet the community. The open house was sponsored by the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce and the local hospital.
Even though the weather was stormy, the crowed wasn't deterred, as they came with their umbrellas overhead to meet Dr. Levin. Mercedes Vary, President of the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce, introduced her to the guests. Dr. Levin greeted everyone and chuckled as she said, “I would like to welcome you to Hendry Regional Cardiology, although it might not be the most appropriate place that you'd like to be."
Arriving in Clewiston over four years ago, Dr. Levin first began practicing at the Hendry Family Care Center and just recently moved to 532 West Sagamore Ave., building C (adjacent to the hospital), now known as Hendry Regional Cardiology. The hospital relocated Dr. Levin to this building, so that most of the patient’s cardiac procedures now can be performed right on site.
Every Tuesday Dr. Levin attends to patients in Clewiston, conducting nuclear stress tests, patient consultations, holter monitoring, Coumadin therapy, electrocardiograms (EKG’s), and much more. On the days that Dr. Levin is not in Clewiston, Liz Boykin, advanced registered nurse practitioner, is available. Ms. Boykin is Dr. Levin’s link to the community.
Long travels and expenses to the coast for cardiac care can be reduced by visiting Dr. Levin’s office, since patients may receive many forms of cardiac services, right at their back door.
