 New CFO at Hendry Regional Medical Center
Hendry Regional Medical Center has hired a new Chief Financial Officer - Jon McMillan. Jon has been serving as the hospital's interim CFO since November of 2007. He recently accepted the CFO position on a permanent basis. Jon comes to Hendry Regional Medical Center with many years of hospital financial leadership experience. He has worked in both large medical centers and community hospitals. Jon has extensive financial management experience in critical access hospitals.
After assisting an Indiana hospital in becoming the second hospital in the state to be designated as a Critical Access Hospital, Jon consulted with many of Indiana’s other small hospitals so they too could qualify as Critical Access Hospitals.
Jon started his medical career at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida, where he worked for 12 years. After leaving JFK, he joined a for-profit healthcare organization in Jupiter, Florida, as the National Director of Accounting. While there, he traveled extensively and advised the corporation-owned hospitals on methods to improve financial performance and profitability. In 1988, he teamed up with the administrative staff at Everglades Memorial Hospital in Pahokee, Florida as the Vice-President and CFO. Leaving Florida for 11 years, he joined the St. Vincent Health System in Indianapolis and was the CFO of one of the system's Critical Access Hospitals. During this time, he also served a duel role as the hospital’s Interim CEO. Jon was later recruited by QHR, and became the CFO at Littleton Regional Hospital in Littleton, New Hampshire. While at Littleton, Jon also served an interim role as CEO. He chose to relocate to Hendry Regional Medical Center in November 2007, as the interim CFO. Jon also has experience in capital funding, hospital expansion, and has been involved in many change management activities throughout his healthcare career. He also brings with him many years experience in the preparation of Medicare Cost Reports and financial overview of Rural Health Clinics.
Jon earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. During his working career in Indiana, he earned his MBA from Indiana Weslyan University. Jon is an advanced member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and is also a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.
