Recently I was admitted to Hendry Regional Medical Center. Years ago, I had been there on and off, but was not impressed with the staff or services. Since the first of this year, I have had to be admitted on two separate occasions - to have surgery and with another illness. I found out that things have changed with this place -I was extremely pleased! I have been a patient in many Florida hospitals – West Palm Beach, Miami, and Fort Myers, and I have to say that although HRMC is a small hospital – it is big in my eyes. I was completely impressed by their nursing staff, doctors and services. They treated me like a queen. Dr. Forbes has been serving this area for years, and he is the best doctor I know, and I know a lot of them. I cannot say enough to explain how wonderful my experience was.
My mother was also admitted recently. She had to be in Intensive Care. Her condition was so critical that she was at death’s door. Again, our local doctors and nursing staff were fantastic. My mother is alive today because of the doctors and nurses at Hendry Regional Center. I was so worried about my mother, but they told me I could call day or night, and they would keep me constantly informed. Dr. Charles, her attending physician, and Dr. Carroll, the new surgeon, were wonderful! Both doctors were considerate of our feelings at a time when I needed them the most. They always let me be with her. She did not want for anything – all of her needs were met. She improved to the point that she could was transferred to a regular room, and she is now in the process of recovery. Her comments today are, “I was treated so nice and kind by everyone. If I have to go back to CCU, God, please take me to Hendry Regional Medical Center.” I have to say that I feel the same.
